These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of quietpagespro.pro (the "Site"), operated by Elena Koh as Quiet Pages Pro from Singapore. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.

Please read these Terms together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how personal data and cookies are handled.

1. About the Site

Quiet Pages Pro is a personal blog publishing essays, journal excerpts, reading notes, letters, and related reflective writing. The Site is operated by an individual author, not a corporation, media conglomerate, or multi-author editorial board. Content reflects personal views and experiences unless explicitly stated otherwise.

The Site provides general reading material and a contact channel for correspondence. It does not provide professional advice of any kind — including legal, financial, medical, psychological, or career advice — even when topics touch on those areas. Content is offered for informational and literary purposes only.

2. Eligibility and acceptable use

You may use the Site for lawful personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Use the Site in any way that violates applicable laws in Singapore or your jurisdiction
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to servers, directories, private data folders, or accounts connected to the Site
• Introduce malware, automated scraping at rates that impair performance, or denial-of-service activity
• Submit contact form messages that are abusive, threatening, defamatory, harassing, or spam
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting the author
• Reproduce, republish, or commercially exploit Site content except as permitted in Section 5

I reserve the right to ignore, delete, or block communications that violate these rules or that appear automated or fraudulent, without obligation to respond.

3. No professional relationship

Reading essays or sending a message through the contact form does not create a client, patient, student, or advisory relationship. Any occasional conversation about writing practice is informal and does not constitute coaching, therapy, or professional consultation unless expressly agreed in a separate written arrangement.

Do not rely on Site content as a substitute for qualified professional guidance. If you require legal, medical, or mental health support, contact licensed providers in your jurisdiction.

4. Accuracy and updates

I aim for accuracy in dates, attributions, and descriptions of books and places. Personal essays, however, involve memory and perspective. Details may be compressed, rearranged, or anonymised for literary purposes. The Site is updated intermittently; content may become outdated. I am under no obligation to update past entries unless factual errors are brought to my attention and confirmed.

External links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. I do not control and am not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. Following external links is at your own risk.

5. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise noted, all text, layout, and original imagery on the Site are owned by Elena Koh or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may:

• View pages in a web browser and share links to Site URLs
• Quote brief excerpts with clear attribution to Quiet Pages Pro and a link to the source page
• Print pages for personal, non-commercial reference

You may not, without prior written permission:

• Republish full essays or substantial portions on other websites, social platforms, or print publications
• Modify, translate, or create derivative works for commercial distribution
• Use Site content in machine learning training datasets or automated summarisation services for commercial purposes
• Remove copyright notices or misattribute authorship

6. User submissions

When you submit a message through the contact form or email, you retain ownership of your words. You grant me a non-exclusive licence to read, store, and use your message solely for the purpose of responding and maintaining correspondence records. I will not publish your submission without separate explicit consent.

You represent that your submission does not infringe third-party rights and does not contain unlawful material. You are responsible for the content you send.

7. Studio visits and informal events

Occasionally I may invite individuals to the studio at 12 Ann Siang Road for a private conversation about writing. Any such visit is by mutual appointment, subject to availability, and may be cancelled or rescheduled. Visitors assume ordinary risks of attending a private workspace and agree to follow reasonable safety instructions. The Site does not guarantee access to the physical studio.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

I do not warrant that the Site will be secure, free of viruses, or compatible with every device or browser. You are responsible for implementing sufficient anti-malware and backup procedures.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law in Singapore, Elena Koh and Quiet Pages Pro shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from:

• Your use of or inability to use the Site
• Any content obtained from the Site
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of transmissions or data
• Conduct of any third party on or linked from the Site

Where liability cannot be excluded, total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Site shall be limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law in Singapore.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Singapore law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is prohibited.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Elena Koh from claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights, to the extent permitted by law.

11. Privacy

Personal data is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy, which incorporates practices consistent with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore. By using the Site, you acknowledge that policy.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising from or relating to the Site or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise for specific claims.

13. Changes to these Terms

I may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will not apply retroactively to disputes arising before the change. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Severability and waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

15. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Quiet Pages Pro regarding use of the Site, superseding prior understandings on the same subject.
