Cookie Policy
Last updated: 28 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Quiet Pages Pro ("I", "me", or "the Site") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit quietpagespro.pro. It should be read alongside the Privacy Policy, which describes how personal data is handled more broadly under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore.
1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Local storage is a related browser feature that stores data on your device with no automatic expiry. Both can remember preferences between visits.
Cookies may be "session" cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them). Local storage persists until cleared manually or by site scripts.
2. How this Site uses cookies and storage
Quiet Pages Pro is intentionally minimal. I do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics at the time of this Policy. The Site uses:
2.1 Strictly necessary / essential storage
When you choose a cookie preference in the banner, your choice is saved in browser local storage under the key qpp_cookie_consent. This remembers whether you selected "Accept all" or "Essential only" so the banner does not reappear on every page load. This storage is necessary to honour your consent choice and is not used for marketing.
2.2 Functional cookies (with consent)
If you click "Accept all" in the cookie banner, the contact page may load an embedded Google Map showing the studio location at 12 Ann Siang Road, Singapore. Google may set its own cookies or collect technical data when the map loads. The map iframe remains hidden and does not load until you consent, in line with a consent-first approach.
If you choose "Essential only", the map placeholder remains visible and no Google content is loaded.
3. Cookie and storage summary
- Name: qpp_cookie_consent (local storage)
- Purpose: Record cookie consent choice
- Duration: Until you clear site data or change preference
- Provider: Quiet Pages Pro (first party)
Third-party cookies from Google may apply only after consent when viewing the embedded map. Refer to Google's privacy and cookie documentation for details on their processing.
4. Managing your preferences
You can change or withdraw consent at any time by:
- Clearing site data or local storage for quietpagespro.pro in your browser settings
- Using private browsing mode, which will show the cookie banner again on a new session
- Blocking third-party cookies in browser settings (this may prevent the map from loading even if you accept all)
Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies entirely or delete existing cookies. Instructions vary by browser — consult your browser's help section for "clear cookies" or "site settings".
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal. Essential storage required for basic site operation may still be used where strictly necessary.
5. First-party versus third-party cookies
First-party cookies and storage are set by quietpagespro.pro itself. The consent preference stored in local storage is first-party and under my direct control. Third-party cookies may be set only when you consent to functional features — specifically when Google Maps loads on the contact page. I do not control Google's cookie names, durations, or purposes; those are governed by Google's policies and your Google account settings if you are signed in.
This distinction matters for privacy: first-party storage on a small personal blog carries limited profiling risk compared to advertising networks that follow you across many sites. I have deliberately avoided the latter category of tools.
6. Do Not Track
The Site does not track users across other websites and does not respond to Do Not Track signals, because no cross-site tracking occurs here.
7. Updates
If I add new cookies or change how consent works — for example, by introducing optional analytics — this Policy will be updated and the cookie banner will be adjusted to request appropriate consent before non-essential cookies load.
