This Privacy Policy explains how Quiet Pages Pro ("we", "us", or "I") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you visit quietpagespro.pro (the "Site") or contact me through forms or email. The Site is a personal blog operated by Elena Koh from a writing studio in Singapore. Although the Site is small in scale, I take privacy seriously and aim to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore ("PDPA") and its subsidiary legislation, including the Personal Data Protection (Notification of Data Breaches) Regulations 2021 where applicable.

By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with how personal data is handled, please discontinue use of the Site and avoid submitting information through the contact form.

2. Scope and context

Quiet Pages Pro is a personal blog publishing essays, journal excerpts, reading notes, and correspondence. It is not a social network, marketplace, membership platform, or newsletter service with bulk mailing lists. The volume of personal data processed is limited and proportionate to operating a static website with an optional contact channel.

This Policy covers personal data collected directly from you (for example, when you submit the contact form) and certain technical data generated when you browse the Site. It does not cover third-party websites linked from the Site, including external literary resources, publisher pages, or mapping services. Those services maintain their own privacy policies, and I encourage you to review them independently.

3. What personal data we collect

3.1 Information you provide voluntarily

When you use the contact form, I may collect:

You choose what to include in your message. Please do not send sensitive personal data — such as medical records, financial account numbers, national identification numbers, or information about third parties — unless it is truly necessary and you consent to its processing for the stated purpose. Like most websites, the Site may automatically receive certain technical information from your browser or device when you load pages. Depending on your hosting configuration and server logs, this may include:

I do not use third-party analytics platforms such as Google Analytics on this Site at the time of this Policy's publication. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security, troubleshooting, and legal compliance, then deleted or anonymised where feasible.

3.3 Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses a small amount of local storage to remember your cookie preference (essential only, or all including functional map loading). Details appear in the Cookie Policy. Essential cookies and strictly necessary storage are used to operate basic site functions and record your consent choice.

4. Purposes of collection, use, and disclosure

Under the PDPA, organisations may collect, use, or disclose personal data only with consent or under an permitted exception. For this Site, personal data is collected and used for the following purposes:

• Responding to enquiries: To read, consider, and reply to messages you send through the contact form or email.
• Correspondence about writing: To follow up on reader letters, workshop questions, or studio visit requests that you initiate.
• Site security and integrity: To detect spam, abuse, or technical attacks, including through server logs and form honeypot fields.
• Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests from authorities, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims if ever necessary.
• Functional map display: If you consent to functional cookies, to load an embedded Google Map on the contact page showing the studio location.

I do not sell personal data. I do not use contact details for unsolicited marketing, paid promotions, or mailing lists. If I ever intend to use your data for a new purpose materially different from those above, I will update this Policy and, where required, seek fresh consent.

5. Legal basis and consent

For Singapore residents, the PDPA generally requires consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal data, subject to exceptions such as deemed consent by voluntary provision for a reasonable purpose, or collection necessary for legal claims.

When you submit the contact form, you voluntarily provide personal data with the reasonable expectation that I will use it to respond. You may withdraw consent for future contact by emailing hello@quietpagespro.pro, though withdrawal does not affect processing already performed or data retained where required by law.

Cookie consent is obtained through the banner on first visit. You may change your choice by clearing site data in your browser or adjusting preferences as described in the Cookie Policy.

6. Disclosure to third parties

I minimise disclosure. Personal data may be shared only in these circumstances:

• Hosting and infrastructure providers: Web hosting companies that store Site files and server logs, bound by contractual confidentiality where applicable.
• Email delivery: If messages are routed through mail transfer agents or hosting-provider mail services to deliver form submissions to my inbox.
• Google Maps: If you accept functional cookies, your browser loads map content from Google. Google may collect data according to its own policies. The map is not loaded without consent.

I do not transfer personal data outside Singapore unless necessary for hosting or email routing. Where overseas transfer occurs, I take reasonable steps to ensure recipients provide a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, consistent with the Personal Data Protection Commission's guidance on transfer obligations.

7. Retention

Contact form submissions are stored in a private server-side log file inaccessible to the public web, alongside any email copy in my mailbox. I retain messages as long as needed to conduct correspondence and for a reasonable archival period thereafter — typically up to twenty-four months for routine enquiries, longer if an ongoing conversation or legal matter requires it.

Server logs containing IP addresses are rotated or deleted on a schedule aligned with hosting provider defaults, generally not exceeding ninety days unless security investigation requires longer retention.

When retention is no longer necessary, data is securely deleted or anonymised so it can no longer identify you.

8. Protection and security

I implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the scale of this Site, including:

• HTTPS encryption for pages served over TLS where supported by hosting
• Restricted access to submission logs via server configuration (.htaccess denial for the data directory)
• Honeypot fields on forms to reduce automated spam
• Minimal collection — only fields necessary for correspondence

No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. While I strive to protect personal data, I cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with the Site has been compromised, contact me promptly.

9. Data breach notification

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in significant harm to affected individuals, or that is of significant scale, I will assess notification obligations under the PDPA and, where required, notify the Personal Data Protection Commission and affected individuals without undue delay, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection (Notification of Data Breaches) Regulations 2021.

10. Your rights under the PDPA

Subject to exceptions in the PDPA, you may have the right to:

• Access: Request access to personal data about you that is in my possession or under my control, and information about how it has been used or disclosed within the last year.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for future collection, use, or disclosure, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
• Data portability: Where applicable under future PDPA amendments or guidance, request transfer of certain data in a commonly used machine-readable format.

To exercise these rights, email hello@quietpagespro.pro with sufficient detail for me to verify your identity and locate relevant records. I will respond within thirty days in most cases, or explain if an extension is needed.

If you are dissatisfied with my response, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in Singapore. The PDPC provides guidance and complaint handling resources at pdpc.gov.sg.

11. Children

The Site is intended for a general audience interested in reading and reflective writing. It is not directed at children under thirteen. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal data through the contact form, please contact me and I will delete the information where appropriate.

12. Content you share publicly

Comments or quotes from readers are not published on this Site without explicit permission. If you email me and later agree to have an excerpt shared in a letter or essay, I will confirm the wording with you before publication. You may request removal of contributed material by contacting me; I will honour reasonable requests unless archival integrity or legal obligations prevent removal.

13. Do Not Track and automated decision-making

The Site does not respond to Do Not Track browser signals because there is no uniform industry standard. I do not engage in profiling, automated decision-making, or behavioural advertising based on personal data collected through this Site.

14. Changes to this Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, or Site practices. The "Last updated" date at the top will change accordingly. Material changes will be noted on this page. Continued use of the Site after updates constitutes acknowledgement of the revised Policy, except where further consent is required by law.
